Aaron Eckhart‘s underrated CIA spy movie is soon arriving on Netflix. Fans of Eckhart will be able to stream his overlooked action thriller Chief of Station in just a few weeks.

According to What’s on Netflix, Chief of Station arrives on August 1, 2026. Netflix is bringing the action thriller to subscribers next month. Fans will finally be able to stream the movie. Directed by Jesse V. Johnson, the film was written by George Mahaffey.

Aaron Eckhart stars as CIA officer Ben Malloy. Olga Kurylenko plays Krystyna Kowerski in the movie. Alex Pettyfer also appears as John Branca. The underrated spy thriller released back in May 2024.

The story follows CIA officer Ben Malloy after tragedy strikes. His wife Farrah dies during a deadly café bombing. Ben soon realizes her death wasn’t an accident. He returns to Budapest searching for the real truth.

Ben discovers Farrah was hiding dangerous secrets all along. He also learns his former partner Branca betrayed him. Following the betrayal, Branca tortures Ben. However, Farrah’s former Russian asset, Krystyna, rescues him.

Together, they recover Farrah’s hidden laptop, exposing CIA corruption. Meanwhile, in a major twist, Ben’s son Nick gets kidnapped in Croatia. Ben risks everything to save his son. The final showdown unfolds in Hungary before the CIA corruption is exposed.

The movie mixes espionage, betrayal, and action. Chief of Station earned around $70,000 at the worldwide box office as the it received a limited theatrical release before video-on-demand. On Rotten Tomatoes the films holds a 63% score from critics and 49% from the audience.
