Both Taylor Swift and President Trump are gearing up for major events this weekend.
In Washington, D.C., the President will be hosting what he has dubbed the “TRUMP RALLY” on the National Mall on Saturday, set to include the “LARGEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN HISTORY” made up of nearly a million fireworks. He also promised to deliver a speech in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday.
The event is set to kick off less than 24 hours after Swift’s rumored wedding to Travis Kelce in New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Friday.
On Thursday, Swift’s inner circle made their way into the Big Apple, apparently for her rehearsal dinner, with Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Jack Antonoff and Swift’s childhood best friend Abigail Anderson Berard among the attendees. Around the same time, the White House shared an image on social media inspired by the poster for the pop star’s wildly successful Eras Tour. It features Trump in the center and surrounded by some of the founding fathers and notable moments from American history.
“The American Eras Tour,” the poster reads.
The caption similarly is a nod to 36-year-old Swift.
“It’s been a long time coming,” it says, referencing the Grammy winner’s song, “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince.”
The White House followed up with a post on X, this one an AI-generated video of the nation’s founding with images of the White House mixed in.
The 24-second clip was captioned: “America’s greatest hits, one era at a time.”
The President has not hidden his distaste for Swift in the past. When the songstress endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, Trump wrote: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” in a post on his own platform, Truth Social. He also put her on blast while praising actress Sydney Sweeney for her controversial “good jeans” commercial for American Eagle. He called it the “HOTTEST” ad out there and further claimed that the “jeans are flying off the shelves.”
“Just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift,” he wrote. “I can’t stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT.”
