Pan’s Labyrinth has released a gorgeous new trailer that returns the audience to the enduring and immersive world of the 2006 classic fantasy film. Del Toro wrote, directed, and co-produced the movie. Set against the backdrop of Francoist Spain in 1944, the plot of Pan’s Labyrinth revolves around Ivana Baquero’s Ofelia, who believes she is the reincarnation of a princess from the underworld. As her stepfather continues to target the Spanish Maquis resisting the regime and her mother’s health deteriorates, Ofelia forms a bond with a magical faun after discovering an abandoned labyrinth full of mystery, wonder, and danger.

The cast of Pan’s Labyrinth also includes Sergi López as Ofelia’s stepfather Captain Vidal, Maribel Verdú as Mercedes, Ariadna Gil as Ofelia’s mother Carmen / Queen of the Underworld, Federico Luppi as King of the Underworld, and Doug Jones as the Faun and the Pale Man.

It won multiple accolades, including Oscars for Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Makeup.

Pan’s Labyrinth returns to theaters on October 9, 2026.
