Olivia Wilde opened up about her split and co-parenting her two children, Otis and Daisy, with ex Jason Sudeikis. She further reflected on their different personalities and said they are much better as friends than as partners. In 2020, the duo parted ways, calling off their engagement of seven years.
Olivia Wilde shares a positive update on co-parenting with Jason Sudeikis
In a recent conversation with The Cut, Wilde spoke about the co-parenting situation with Sudeikis, following their split six years back. “We’re very, very, very different people who are certainly much better as friends and co-parents,” she said. The TRON: Legacy star revealed that their custody arrangement has allowed them to split time with the kids every alternate week. However, they have kept this setup “flexible and fluid” for themselves.
As an example of their co-parenting dynamic, Wilde revealed that she recently let Sudeikis have one of her days with Daisy. This gave the father-daughter duo the chance to spend time while watching soccer at FancyFree in Brooklyn. “Jason sent me a picture of her sitting with Spike Lee and Mayor Mamdani, two people I revere. I was like, ‘F—, yeah!” she continued, referring to the duo keeping her updated from their outing.
Earlier, during a conversation in an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, the Don’t Worry Darling actress recalled when she and Sueikis realized that their relationship was over.
She said, “Jason and I had been having a rough time there for a while. We had a real bumpy, bumpy ride, and we were driving home from my birthday party, my friends had had, and I said, ‘Did you give me a birthday present?’ And he said, ‘What would I get you, Olivia? I don’t know you.’ And he wasn’t wrong. We didn’t know each other anymore.”
This revelation came when she was discussing her new film, The Invite.
