With the world’s largest football showcase kicking off this week, The Hong Kong Jockey Club has launched a landmark Home of Football campaign.
This new initiative aims to elevate sports entertainment and fan engagement across the Club’s flagship racing and entertainment platforms, including the hugely popular Happy Wednesday series at Happy Valley Racecourse – where sport, music, culture and entertainment come together in a uniquely Hong Kong setting.
“Racing with Football” combines the thrills of Hong Kong’s world-class racing with the global passion of football, bringing football-themed entertainment, exclusive fan experiences and special race-day activations to Happy Valley Racecourse throughout the tournament. Limited-edition football-themed merchandise will also be available at the on-course Gift at Races store.
This is the latest initiative in the Club’s drive to broaden its reach as an international sports entertainment business, positioning Hong Kong as a dynamic hub for global exchange, connectivity and tourism, with the ultimate aim of creating lasting value for the community. Its iconic racecourses serve as platforms that capture the vibrancy of Hong Kong – encouraging people to experience the magic when world-class sport meets top-class entertainment.
To further its vision, the Club has entered into a new strategic partnership with Lenovo, Official Technology Partner of FIFA World Cup 2026™ – bringing together two global brands.
A key highlight of the collaboration is the “Racing with Football” series, featuring a special guest appearance by an iconic football legend at this week’s 10 June midweek races at Happy Valley Racecourse. Lenovo will also present its immersive Lenovo Experience Booth – an AI-powered football zone showcasing how technology is transforming sports performance, event operations and fan engagement, in line with its role at FIFA World Cup 2026™. Hong Kong will be the only city outside the tournament’s host regions where fans can enjoy this experience. A special race themed around “Racing with Football” will also be held on 8 July.
Casper Stylsvig, the Club’s Executive Director, Sports Business, said horse racing has long been rooted in Hong Kong, and its success on the world stage has brought pride to the city and attracted fans and tourists from all over the globe. At the same time, Hong Kong shares the world’s passion for football, with major international tournaments igniting city-wide excitement. By kicking off with “Racing with Football”, the partnership with Lenovo will bring fans of the two iconic sports together in a celebration of the city’s unique sporting culture. The partnership also reflects a growing global trend of leading sports organisations working closely with technology partners to enhance fan engagement and live entertainment experiences. All initiatives are designed to contribute to Hong Kong’s tourist economy and reinforce its status as an international sports and entertainment hub.
