Lamine Yamal, the most valuable player in the world: he is light-years ahead of Haaland, Mbappé…

Lamine Yamal is considered one of the best players in the world, but what he has already become,  and remains, is the highest-valued footballer, by a large margin over the rest. According to CIES Football Observatory, he is valued at an astonishing €358.1 million!

The observatory published this Wednesday the report with the 100 footballers from around the world (they analyze 70 leagues) with the highest transfer value, and Lamine Yamal occupies first place with a price of 358.1 million euros. His leadership is more than outstanding. He has no rival, despite the injury that kept him out of competition for the last month.

The second player in the world with the highest valuation is Erling Haaland, the Norwegian striker for City, valued at 227.3 million; and the third is the French forward for Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé, at 165.7. Neither of the two surpasses the 300 million barrier.

Valuation by position

Among the ten players with the highest transfer price according to CIES, another young Barça footballer stands out: Pau Cubarsí. The Barça center-back rounds out the top ten with a cost of 124.6 million euros. The young professional from Girona is the defender with the highest market value in the world.

Pedri, who occupies position 12 in the overall ranking, stands out as the midfielder with the highest valuation (120.6); Gianluigi Donnarumma, as the highest-priced goalkeeper (79.5 million); Nico O”Reilly as the most expensive full-back (125); and Arda Güler, as the highest-valued attacking midfielder (124.8).

The fourth most valuable Spaniard, after Lamine, Cubarsí and Pedri, is Fermín López, whom CIES values at 115.9 million, and the fifth is Real Madrid player Dean Huijsen (112).
