Kai Havertz set to join German on Tuesday

Kai Havertz and his Arsenal teammates fell short of topping Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League finale, but the Germany international has quickly transitioned and is looking forward to joining the national team on Tuesday.

“I’m really excited about the World Cup now. I’ve already watched one or two videos on YouTube. I can’t wait to join up with the boys. First a short break, then it starts on Tuesday,” said Havertz (as captured by Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg).

Havertz can fill a number of roles for Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann, whose team picked up a 4-0 win over Finland in the first of two World Cup tune-ups. It will be very interesting to see how and where Havertz plays upon his return and if he can unseat Deniz Undav as the team’s striker.

Germany plays the United States on Saturday June 6th at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.
