Previous warrants obtained by WMBF News state Coffee admitted to shooting Conner twice during the fight and that Coffee planned to rob him.

According to a police report, Conner was later found on Freemont Road by a bystander who took him to a hospital.

Conner died of his injuries at a hospital in March 2025, with warrants noting Coffee’s initial attempted murder charge was upgraded to murder the following day.

A judge presided over the hearing and sentenced Coffee to 20 years in prison.

Coffee must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence before he is eligible for supervised release. He will also be eligible for life in prison if he ever commits another violent offense.
