Jack Quaid has signed on for a new Western movie from acclaimed director Rey Mendoza. The upcoming project also features Avatar star Sam Worthington, among others.
What do we know about the new Western movie with Jack Quaid?
The Boys star Jack Quaid is now part of the upcoming Western film, Blood On the Promontory, reports Deadline. The news comes just weeks after Mendoza was announced as director. The filmmaker co-directed last year’s highly acclaimed Warfare alongside Alex Garland, earning stellar reactions from critics and fans. The war film currently holds an impressive 92% Tomatometer score and 93% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The rest of the cast includes Dutton Ranch’s Jai Courtney, The Boys in the Iron Box’s Jaeden Martell, and Lioness’ LaMonica Garrett, with character details currently under wraps.
Quaid was recently seen in the last season of The Boys, reprising his iconic role of Hugie Campbell. The series spanned seven years before wrapping up with Season 5 this month on Prime Video. Quaid also appeared in last year’s Novocaine, Companion, and Neighborhood Watch.
Speaking of Worthington, he was last seen in 2025’s blockbuster Avatar: Fire and Ash, reprising the fan-favorite role of Jake Sully. It was his third appearance in the long-running movie franchise, which began with 2009’s first installment. Worthington’s other recent projects include 2024’s Lift and Relay.
Blood On the Promontory is written by Evan Cooper, and the plot follows five convicts attempting to flee through the mountains in the aftermath of a violent train robbery. The Western has Nina Yang Bongiovi, Paul Hadad, Glenn Kleczkowski, and Mark Gillard as the producers, while Danny Peykoff is serving as the executive producer.
Blood On the Promontory is yet to receive an official release date window.
