Starting May 27, 2026, passengers will be able to access the departure facilities at the revamped Terminal 2 of Hong Kong International Airport. With huge LED screens featuring ocean-themed visuals at the entrance, the new terminal aims to offer travellers a vibrant and immersive airport experience. The expanded Terminal 2 is expected to ease passenger traffic during the busy summer travel season and strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a leading global aviation hub.

According to the South China Morning Post, Terminal 2 is expected to handle around eight million passenger trips in its first year of operation. 15 local and regional low-cost carriers will commence services on this terminal between May 27 and June 10, 2026. Hong Kong Airlines will be the first one to relocate from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2.

- Eight catering outlets
- Four 24-hour restaurants (McDonald’s, Jollibee, Milk Cafe, and Yukimura)
- 12 retail shops for last-minute needs, including everything from travel essentials to local souvenirs.
