HONG KONG, CHINA. Hong Kong International Airport maintained strong traffic momentum in April, serving 5.67 million passengers, up +9.4% year-on-year, as resilient regional travel demand continued despite Middle East geopolitical tensions.
Announcing the airport’s latest traffic figures today (22 May), the airport authority reported 34,445 flight movements for the month, up +5.5% from the same month in 2025.
The Easter holiday travel surge contributed to the strong performance, with passenger volumes exceeding 210,000 in a single day on 3 April.
Transfer and transit passengers continued to drive overall growth by passenger segment, followed by visitor traffic.
Mainland China and Southeast Asia remained the airport’s largest visitor source markets, while the Middle East was the only region to record a decline amid ongoing conflict.
Passenger traffic from January to April increased +13% year-on-year to 22.3 million, with flight movements also rising +5.1% to 135,090.
Over the past 12 months, the airport recorded 63.54 million passengers, marking a +13.7% increase, while flight movements grew +6.6% to 401,240. ✈
