The Ninth World Finance Forum Annual Conference and Dialogue of Continents 2026 High-Level Seminar opened in Hong Kong on Thursday.
Co-hosted by the Organizing Committee of the World Finance Forum, the Center for BRICS and Global Governance, and the Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee, with the Financial Services Development Council as strategic partner, the conference is themed “In Search of a New Anchor for Stability and Growth: How to Reshape and Adapt to the New World Economic and Financial Landscape in a Divided and Turbulent World.”
Delegates include representatives from government authorities, leading companies, and academia for discussion on how to create stability in an era of uncertainty.
The World Finance Forum’s 2026 World Economic and Financial Outlook report is also being released at the conference.
The intention of the World Finance Forum Annual Conference and Dialogue of Continents High-Level Seminar is to provide a high-level dialogue platform for policymakers, financiers, entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, and scholars to share insights, pool wisdom, and foster cooperation.
Following an opening ceremony, the conference includes a program of multiple themed forums and high-level dialogues. Discussions center on a variety of topics including the energy crisis and geopolitical rifts, the outlook for US-China relations, the new landscape of global finance, investing in China and mainland Chinese companies going global, and the value and future of Hong Kong as an international financial center, with the aim of collectively searching for new anchors of stability in a turbulent world.
The overall aim is to contribute wisdom to addressing the current global challenges and build a practical platform for dialogue and cooperation among international capital, technological innovation, and regional collaboration.
The conference also includes side-events such as the World Finance Forum Tribute to Annual Financial Thinkers Award; the World Finance Forum Tribute to Annual Sci-Tech Innovation Leadership Award; the ceremony for the World Finance Forum’s Sci-Tech Innovation Leading Enterprises and Growth Enterprises Awards; a closing banquet exchange; and the “Hong Kong Sci-Tech Night” and “Sci-Tech Project Pitch Sessions”.
