The Masters of the Universe movie has set a unique world record even before its release. He-Man fans were treated to a breathtaking sky show that has since been recognised by the Guinness World Records.
Masters of the Universe makes history with drone show
Amazon set the Guinness World Record for the brightest drone show while promoting the Masters of the Universe movie. On May 19, 2026, the show lit up the Los Angeles night sky with 1,600 drones, making a series of eye-catching formations.
Masters of the Universe is directed by Travis Knight, known for acclaimed works including The Boxtrolls (2014), Kubo and the Two Strings (2016), and Bumblebee (2018). Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, and DeVon Franklin are serving as producers on the film.
The cast features Nicholas Galitzine in the lead role of Adam Glenn/He-Man, alongside Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, James Purefoy as King Randor, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Goat Man, Sam C Wilson as Kronis/Trap Jaw, and Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto. Jared Leto will be seen playing He-Man’s arch-nemesis Skeletor.
The official synopsis for the movie reads, “After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor. To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.”
Production took place in London between January and June last year. Ahead of its wide release, the film premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre on May 18, 2026.
The Masters of the Universe movie is set to hit U.S. theaters on June 5, 2026.
