Madrid – Saba:
Barcelona achieved an unprecedented record in the history of the Spanish Football League during a perfect season when they defeated Real Betis 3-1 on Sunday evening at Camp Nou in the penultimate round.
Barcelona became the first team to win all of its home matches in a full La Liga season, and will play its final match at Valencia’s Mestalla Stadium next Saturday.
The Catalan team managed to retain the title under coach Hansi Flick, winning all 19 of their home matches this season, scoring 57 goals and conceding only 10.
Opta statistics indicate that Barcelona broke the previous record held by their arch-rivals Real Madrid, who won all 17 of their home matches during the 1985-1986 La Liga season.
This record reflects the significant dominance Barcelona has exerted over its rivals since returning to Camp Nou, where they secured their first La Liga title in a direct Clásico against Real Madrid.
