Amazon Prime Video’s TV and movie release schedule for May 18 to 24, 2026, includes a spy film starring John Krasinski.
Directed by Andrew Bernstein, the political action thriller film is based on the Ryanverse characters by Tom Clancy. Furthermore, the film is a continuation of the television series, Jack Ryan. It follows Krasinski’s Jack Ryan reuniting with CIA operatives to deal with a betrayal from an enemy who is aware of their every move.
In his interview with The AU Review, director Andrew Bernstein was asked about the challenges of the episodic to cinematic transition. “It’s a great question, and it was the central question of the whole pre-production of this movie to do exactly what you said, to not make it feel like it was an extension of the series,” he replied. Bernstein continued, “We wanted to honor what we did, but make it feel like its own standalone movie.”
He further added, “Part of that was in the storytelling. We wanted the storytelling to feel fresh and the stakes to be higher, because we didn’t have a ton of time to tell it, so all the stakes had to be higher.”
Additionally, Leonardo DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another arrives on Prime Video. The Oscar-winning film follows a washed-up revolutionary, Bob, who gets into a new conflict amidst the return of his enemy.
