Bayern Munich loanees continue to be in the middle of intriguing races as their seasons come down to the wire. Ibrahimović set his team up for a much needed win, but Olise had the final word. Palhinha helped pull his team out of the relegation zone for now. Peretz failed to help Southampton earn direct promotion to the Premier League but secured home field advantage for the second leg of the semifinal of the promotion playoffs. Alexander Nübel – VfB Stuttgart
Nübel started for Stuttgart on the road to Hoffenheim. He faced three shots on goal in the first 49 minutes and let them all past him. Stuttgart was down 3-1 at that point and also ended up going down to ten men. Nübel kept his team in it, saving the next six shots on goal that he faced. Stuttgart was able to score a goal down a man and salvage a 3-3 draw on the road.
Stuttgart will face Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. They are currently level with Leverkusen on points — behind on goal differential — for fourth place and a guaranteed Champions League place.
Arijon Ibrahimović – 1. FC Heidenheim
Ibrahimović started for Heidenheim against his parent club in the Allianz Arena. He did not have a shot attempt but created three chances for his teammates to shoot, including an assist in the 76th minute to put his team back in the lead, 3-2. He also tracked back to help on defense with a tackle, two blocked shots, two interceptions, and four recoveries. Ibrahimović was subbed out in the 81st minute with Heidenheim up 3-2 still. Olise’s late strike stole the win away from Heidenheim and they had to split the points with a 3-3 draw.
Heidenheim remain in 18th place, three points behind Wolfsburg for the relegation playoff spot.
Armindo Sieb – 1. FSV Mainz 05
Sieb started on the bench for Mainz against St Pauli in Hamburg. He entered the match in the 72nd minute with his team up 2-0. He was not able to get into the match. He had zero shot attempts and chances created for his teammates to shoot on just 15 touches. Mainz conceded one goal but still was able to earn the away win 2-1.
This win confirmed Mainz will be playing in the Bundesliga next season. Mainz will host Union Berlin on Sunday.
England – Premier League
There are two players on loan to the English Premier League: João Palhinha and Jonah Kusi-Asare.
João Palhinha – Tottenham
Palhinha started and played the full 90 minutes for Tottenham on the road to Aston Villa. Moments after Spurs went up 1-0. Palhinha had a shot from out side the box that almost doubled the lead but was barely saved by the keeper. He also completed 90% of his passes and helped back on defense with two tackles, one blocked shot, three clearances, and four recoveries. He helped his team earn a 2-1 win and pulled themselves out of the relegation zone.
Spurs now sit in 17th place, one point ahead of West Ham. They play next on Monday, May 11 at home versus Leeds.
Jonah Kusi-Asare – Fulham
Kusi-Asare was on the bench for Fulham away to Arsenal. He saw his team go down 3-0 in the first half. He entered in the 78th minute and had just twelve touches. The only stat of record was two recoveries. Arsenal held Fulham from scoring a goal and they lost 3-0 on the road.
Fulham sit in tenth place with three matches left. They are three points from a Conference League spot and four from Europa League. They will host Bournemouth on Saturday.
Daniel Peretz is the only player on loan to England’s Championship.
Daniel Peretz – Southampton
Peretz started in goal for Southampton in their penultimate match at home against Ipswich Town on Tuesday with an outside chance for clinching a top-two finish and automatic promotion. Even with his seven saves, Southampton could not find enough goals to find a win. Ipswich Town found a late goal to earn a 2-2 draw.
Pertez was in goal again for the last regular season against Preston North End. Southampton had clinched a spot in the promotion playoffs but were playing for seeding. Peretz had four saves and allowed just one goal but was credited with an error that led to that goal. A stoppage time goal for Southampton clinched a 3-1 win on the day and confirmed their fourth place season finish.
In fourth place, Southampton match up against Middlesborough in a two-legged semifinal. The first leg is on Saturday at Middlesborough.
Bryan Zaragoza is the only player on loan to Serie A.
Bryan Zaragoza – AS Roma
Roma did not play this week. Their next match is on Monday at home against Fiorentina followed by an away match to Parma. They currently sit in sixth place, qualifying for a Conference League spot. They are one point behind a Europa League spot and four places behind the Champions League qualification with a match in hand.
Sacha Boey is the only player on loan to the Turkish Super Lig.
Sacha Boey – Galatasaray
Boey started on the bench for Galatasaray away to Samsunspor. His team went up 1-0 in the ninth minute but then the wheels fell off. By the time Boey came into the match in the 84th minute, they were down 4-1 and were playing with ten men. He had just one shot — blocked from about the penalty spot — and completed both attempted passes on his four passes. The match ended 4-1.

His team was holding their own until the 31st minute when his teammate got a red card followed by an own goal three minutes later. Zvonarek was subbed off in the 65th minute when his team were down 2-0. The match ended with that score.

Aséko started and played the full 90 for Hannover at home against Preußen Münster. He did not attempt a shot but created two chances for his teammates to shoot. He also had three tackles, two clearances, and five recoveries. Hannover was down 2-0 in the first half but leveled it at 2-2 in first half stoppage time. They found a would be winner but conceded a goal in stoppage time and had to settle for a 3-3 draw.
Hannover sits in third place and would qualify for the relegation playoff. They are level on points with fourth place and down one point from second place and automatic promotion with two matches left. They travel to face Bochum on Saturday.
Javier Fernández – 1. FC Nürnberg
Fernández started for Nürnberg and played most of the match. He had two shots — both blocked. He helped keep the hosts to just one goal with one tackle, three clearances, and four recoveries. He was subbed off in the 87th minute with the match level at 1-1. Neither team found a late winner and the Frankenderby ended in a draw.
