Steve Burton, who plays Jason Morgan, revealed when he will return to General Hospital after being written off recently. The latest storyline featured him being held responsible for the shooting of a WSB agent and was taken off to an undisclosed site. Britt and Danny watched him being taken away helplessly, without knowing when he would be back. However, Burton has reassured that the exit is temporary and that the audience will get to see him soon.
Steve Burton reveals when Jason returns to General Hospital
During a conversation on the That’s Awesome podcast, Burton addressed a common question among the audience on whether he will return to GH or not, following his latest exit. He said, “Yes, I am coming back to the show. I start in June, so I’ll be back for sure.”
Back in February, Burton took to Instagram to announce that he would be taking a temporary hiatus from the show. He cited the reason that he’s newly married and is looking forward to spending some time with family. Moreover, he expressed his gratitude to fans for their continued love and support. He revealed that he would be back in the summer.
Previously, he also spoke about what other storyline he sees coming to life after his short break. He revealed that Sonny might turn to Ric to make his character return home. “I don’t know the [current] dynamic. I don’t know anything about Ric. I don’t know anything about their relationship, if Sonny and Ric are damaged. I’m not sure if Ric has reformed at all. [But] I like the idea, as Steve. I like it, because I like Rick [Hearst]. And especially when I come back, it’s going to be a problem like it used to be in the old days. So, I think that’s pretty cool,” he elaborated (via Soap Opera Digest).
In addition, Burton is sure that as Jason goes, he might be planning his escape instantly, making note of every detail that’s leading to the undisclosed place he’s been taken to. He mentioned that if he’s held in the international prison, then he might try to escape. But if it’s Port Charles prison, then he would be required to get out on good behavior.
