The story of DC‘s Clayface revolves around Matt Hagen, a struggling actor whose face is disfigured one fateful day. He then undergoes a scientific transformation that turns his body into a large lump of moldable clay.
Naomi Ackie, Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan, and David Dencik also star in Clayface, while Hossein Amini additionally contributed to the script. Watkins’ previous work as a director includes 2008’s Eden Lake, 2012’s The Woman in Black, 2016’s Bastille Day, and 2024’s Speak No Evil, while he’s also helmed episodes of Black Mirror and The Ipcress File. Additionally, Watkins created the TV show McMafia and was a second unit director on 2009’s The Descent Part 2.
Clayface officially arrives on October 23, 2026.
Before that, the next DCU entry, Supergirl, arrives on June 26, 2026. Directed by Craig Gillespie, that movie will see Milly Alcock reprise her role as Kara Zor-El after she briefly appeared at the end of Superman, while Jason Momoa also stars as Lobo. Following Supergirl, the HBO show Lanterns, starring Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, is expected to premiere in August 2026, though an exact release date has not yet been announced.
