As a nearly two-year permitting process approaches completion, a national coffee chain has begun hiring for its first location in the Hanover area.
7 Brew Coffee, a national chain of coffee shops, recently began accepting applications for a location manager on March 31, 2026, according to an online job listing.
The quick-service coffee shop is preparing to be built at the site of a former Burger King at 1160 Carlisle St. in Penn Township, Penn Township meeting records show.
The location had housed a Burger King until the store’s closure in early 2023, and has since sat vacant.
The site of a former Burger King is seen at 1160 Carlisle Street in Penn Township. The property will soon be home to a 7Brew Coffee stand.
Hiring for the new 7 Brew Coffee comes after a nearly two-year planning and permitting process, with the land development plan submitted to the Penn Township planning commission by Toth and Associates in November of 2024.

Those plans showed that the site will be accessible from Carlisle Street as well as from the parking lot of the North Point Plaza, and will feature two drive-thru lanes that wrap around the building.
Most recently, the location has appeared on several Penn Township meeting agendas, with PennDOT requiring the township to be the applicant on the stormwater drainage facilities as part of the highway occupancy permit needed to access the state route of Route 94, according to meeting minutes.
That highway permit application was set to be discussed once more during the township’s upcoming April 6 Public Works meeting, the agenda shows.
7 Brew Coffee, founded in 2017 in Rogers, Arkansas, operates “stands,” which are small drive-through only shops, according to the website for the company. The business now has over 291 stands across the country, the website said, and two in Pennsylvania.
The stands, which are largely prefabricated off-site and dropped onto a concrete foundation can be built in just “several days” according to one of the company’s construction partners.

The small shops typically feature multiple drive-through lanes, and few food options, with a focus on speed, according to the website. Many flavors are offered in sugarfree variants, the menu shows.
Featuring over 20,000 possible custom combinations of drinks, a number touted in many of the company’s marketing materials, the brand has a sizable social media following where customers share their personal flavor combinations.
In recent years, the company opened its first York County location in Red Lion, on Cape Horn Road, as it expands into the area.
