William Shatner, best known as Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise, celebrated his milestone 95th birthday with a post on Instagram, sharing two pieces of advice he said he had learned over his long lifetime. The actor also said he was “still smokin’,” as he posted a picture with a cigar in his mouth. Fans reacted positively to the post and made their feelings clear in the comment section.

William Shatner, a veteran actor with a career spanning more than seven decades, celebrated his milestone 95th birthday in style. He posted a split photo of himself on Instagram and wrote in the caption, “At 95, I’m still smokin’!” He also shared two lessons he said he had learned. “I’ve learned two things: Never waste a good cigar. Never trust anyone who says you should ‘act your age.’”

The post drew numerous responses from fans of the actor. “Happy Birthday, Bill. You are 95, and I’m 50. Why do you have more energy than me? Lol,” one user wrote. Another user added, “OMG. William Shatner began his acting career in Canadian film and television. He rose to prominence for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise. He continued portraying the character until his appearance in Star Trek Generations (1994).

In addition to Star Trek, Shatner has appeared in T. J. Hooker, Rescue 911, Columbo, and Boston Legal, among others.

Shatner’s last major film role came in the 2021 movie Senior Moment. Following that, he took on several voice roles, including in Masters of the Universe: Revolution.
