Patrick Berger reports that Borussia Dortmund have reached a basic agreement with Elversberg’s Nils-Ole Book to succeed Sebastian Kehl, who exited his role as BVB sporting director on Sunday with immediate effect.
As such, Dortmund’s hierarchy have now turned their attention towards Book, who earned himself the nickname of ‘pearl diver’ thanks to his work at Elversberg, which has seen the club rise fourth tier to the 2. Bundesliga, even narrowly missing out on promotion to the top flight after defeat in the play-off to Heidenheim.
During his time at the club, Book was instrumental in engineering loan moves for Nick Woltemade, Fisnik Asllani, Paul Wanner, and others, with the trio now playing at a high level.
According to Berger, Dortmund are working on a quick solution to appoint Book, but they’re yet to reach an agreement with the 2. Bundesliga outfit.
