In this video on day trading EURUSD, I look at how to use horizontal levels in conjunction with active trade management. It was filmed on March 11, 2026.
Active trade management is when a stop loss or target is moved during the trade, based on new information from price action as it unfolds. The other options are to just leave the stop loss and target alone until one of them gets hit, or use a type trailing stop loss.
In the video, I also discuss how hard it is to predict what the price will do accurately. The real skill is making sound decisions in the moment. Did we factor in:
- levels that may affect the trade
- the stop loss size and risk/reward
- how much price is moving before pulling back
- the overall structures
- if a level was recently probed, was it rejected or confirmed?
- whipsawyness/choppyness/how easy it is to get stopped out

If we make good decisions, we have a better chance of being profitable. Because we are taking trades where price has an unobstructed path to a reasonable target. If we pick a reasonable target based on what we can see at the time of the trade, it doesn’t matter if the price surges way past our target. We couldn’t know that would happen (unless our trade variables told us the big profit target was reasonable). We should judge the trade based on whether it was a good decision…and a good decision means we considered the variables and found it to be worth the risk.
The goal is to improve decision-making, not predictive prowess. Improving decision-making and the variables we include in those decisions is controllable. What the market ends up doing is out of our control. Don’t put effort into trying to control or force the uncontrollable. Work on making better decisions. Hopefully, this video shows you some ways to do that.
