Hong Kong Stock Market Midday Review

BYD's new generation ATTO3 has been launched in Hong Kong with an indicative price of 188,000 Hong Kong dollars.

According to Zhitong Finance, the Hang Seng Index rose by 2.29%, gaining 604 points to close at 27,017 points; the Hang Seng Tech Index increased by 3.32. The morning trading volume of Hong Kong stocks reached HKD 106.5 billion.

Optical communication concept stocks are among the top gainers. Key enterprises in Optics Valley will continue operations during the Spring Festival, with AI high-speed optical module orders scheduled through the fourth quarter. Changfei Fiber Optic Cable (06869) surged by 15.77%; Huiju Technology (01729) rose over 5%; and Cambridge Technologies (06166) gained 7%.

Wolong Nuclear Materials (09981) rose by 6.96% after being added to the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect lists. Total demand for high-speed copper cables is growing rapidly.

Precious metals sector performed strongly. Global Gold Group (03939) surged over 6%, hitting a new all-time high, with expectations of annual net profit increasing by up to 160%; Zijin Gold International (02259) rose over 7%.

Technology and internet stocks rebounded across the board. Meituan-W (03690) surged over 6%, with analysts stating that AI investment may enter the second half of the industrial trend cycle.

Alibaba-W (09988) rose over 3.5%. Alibaba Cloud has added support for four new programming models, including Qwen3.5-Plus, and introduced low-cost subscriptions.

Hua Hong Semiconductor (01347) rose over 4%. Analysts believe that the company’s new 12-inch wafer fab, Fab9A, will reach full capacity this year.

Biren Technology (06082) surged over 8% after completing adaptations for several leading domestic AI large-scale models.

Kingboard Laminates (01888) rose nearly 5%, hitting a new high. It is expected to achieve an annual net profit exceeding HKD 2.39 billion, representing growth of over 80% year-on-year.

Lithium stocks strengthened during trading. Ganfeng Lithium (01772) surged over 8%, following a significant upward revision of domestic lithium price forecasts by UBS Group.

Harbour BioMed-B (02142) rose more than 5% as its next-generation CTLA-4 antibody gained international traction, with a total deal value potentially exceeding $1.2 billion.

XunCe (03317) surged over 9%, reaching a new high, and is expected to be included in the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect next month, driving a revaluation of its strategic value in data circulation.
