Utopia has shared the official trailer for I Live Here Now, the upcoming psychological horror thriller led by Lucy Fry (The Vampire Academy), Matt Rife (Wild ’N Out), and Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale). Ahead of its theatrical release this Spring, the movie will first have special sneak-peek screenings in celebration of Twin Peaks Day at participating Alamo Drafthouse locations on February 24.
“In the film, struggling actress Rose finds her life upended by unexpected news. She’s suddenly forced to confront a future she never thought possible, just as a major career opportunity with top agent Cindy Abrams comes into view. Things spiral further when her casual boyfriend, Travis, brings his overbearing mother into the fold, pushing Rose to the brink,” reads the official synopsis. “She flees to The Crown Inn, a crumbling motel at the edge of nowhere, where time fractures and reality bends. Haunted by sleep paralysis, splintered memories, and eerie motel dwellers, especially the enigmatic Lillian, Rose begins to unravel. To move forward, she must confront the buried truth of her past that her body has never forgotten.”

What happens in the I Live Here Now trailer?
The trippy and haunting video introduces Fry as Rose, an actress who finds herself trapped in a remote hotel. When a career opportunity finally arrives at the same time as the news of an unplanned pregnancy, Rose unravels as she’s forced to confront unpleasant memories from her past. The cast also includes Sheryl Lee (Twin Peaks) as Martha, Sarah Rich (True Blood) as Sid, Lara Clear (The Society) as Ada, Cara Seymour (American Psycho) as Cindy, and Alex Gaumond (Derry Girls) as Dr. Neltman.
I Live Here Now is written and directed by Julie Pacino in her feature directorial debut. She is known as the daughter of acclaimed actor Al Pacino. The upcoming movie was shot on vibrant 35mm with striking 16mm sequences. It is being described as “a dreamlike psychodrama about identity, trauma, and the fragile line between memory and madness.”
Since its world premiere at the 2025 Fantasia International Film Festival, the movie has already garnered positive reviews from critics. So far, it has an approval rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie is produced by Julie Pacino, Kyle Kaminsky, and Jake Seal, with Floriane Andersen, Marianne Bourg, Kris Eiamsakulrat, Cole Harper, Lori Ingber, Dani Koenigsberg, Robert Schwartzman, Phil Toronto, and Rachel Y. Wu set as executive producers.
