Viewers are curious to know whether Netflix has renewed or canceled Stranger Things Season 6. Created by the Duffer Brothers, the latest season follows the Hawkins squad, for whom the clock ticks to solve the town’s darkest mysteries. On top of that, they were also required to stop Vecna from conquering the world. With Season 5 having ended recently, many are eager to know if more installments are in store.
Has Netflix canceled Stranger Things or renewed it for Season 6?
Stranger Things Season 5 was the final chapter of the series, and it won’t be renewed for further seasons. However, there are spin-offs in the works.
The Duffer brothers have always envisioned the series to last only four or five seasons. In a 2017 conversation with Entertainment Weekly, they shared their vision for the show, revealing that they want it to have “a finite ending” and not feel overly-stretched.
Ross said, “Everything changes as we move forward, so we’ll see. Further, Matt added, “I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas, and they lose it because they’re losing interest. You wanna end when you’re on top.” While Stranger Things has ended, the Duffer Brothers teased what fans could expect next from the franchise in a lengthy note.
It read, “There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things: new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes. But first we hope you stay with us as we finish this tale of a powerful girl named Eleven and her brave friends, a broken police chief, and a ferocious mom of a small town called Hawkins, and an alternate dimension known only as Upside Down. As always, we are grateful for your patience and support.”
At the moment, the animated spin-off series named “Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85” is in development. It follows Eleven, Max, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will, who uncover new mysteries and confront new monsters.
