An MCU star has joined the cast of Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio’s new movie.
Scorsese and DiCaprio are once again collaborating on a new movie titled What Happens at Night. This will be their seventh time working together on a feature film following 2002’s Gangs of New York, 2004’s The Aviator, 2006’s The Departed, 2010’s Shutter Island, 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street, and 2023’s Killers of the Flower Moon.
Based on the novel of the same name by Peter Cameron, the movie will also star Jennifer Lawrence.
Who has joined the cast of Martin Scorsese’s What Happens at Night?
Mads Mikkelsen has joined the cast of What Happens at Night, according to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider. Character details are being kept under wraps at this time.
Mikkelsen is known for playing the villain in the 2016 Doctor Strange MCU movie, while he also starred as the titular character in the popular Hannibal TV series. His filmography also includes 2006’s Casino Royale, 2012’s The Hunt, 2016’s Rogue One, 2020’s Another Round, and 2023’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, among other titles.
A description of Cameron’s book reads, “An unnamed American couple travels to a strange, snowy European city to adopt a baby. It’s a difficult journey that leaves the wife, who is struggling with cancer, desperately weak, and her husband worries that her illness will prevent the orphanage from releasing their child. On arrival, the couple checks into the cavernous and eerily deserted Borgarfjaroasysla Grand Imperial Hotel where the bar is always open and the lobby populated with an enigmatic cast of characters ranging from an ancient, flamboyant chanteuse to a debauched businessman to an enigmatic faith healer. Nothing is as it seems in this baffling, frozen world, and the more the couple struggles to claim their baby, the less they seem to know about their marriage, themselves, and life itself.”
A release date for What Happens at Night has not yet been announced.
