A $50 million complaint filed this week claims that Golden Globe-nominated actor and granddaughter of Elvis Presley, Riley Keough, served as an egg donor for John Travolta and his late wife, Kelly Preston.
The claim was brought about during a legal battle over the estate of Lisa Marie Presley, which was presented by former business associates of her mother, Priscilla Presley, Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko. The filing accuses Priscilla Presley, 80, of elder abuse and financial exploitation, PEOPLE reported.
Details within the Dec. 16 filing state that the egg donor arrangement was made by Michael Lockwood, Lisa Marie Presley’s husband.
The complaint claims Travolta and Preston previously used Lisa Marie Presley’s eggs to conceive, but that by 2010, Travolta sought a different donor, according to PEOPLE.
The filing claims Lockwood told the plaintiffs that the “Grease” star no longer wished to use Presley’s eggs due to her history of substance abuse, referring to them as “eggs with heroin.”
A deal was then struck for Keough to instead provide the eggs so they could have Travolta’s son, Benjamin, now, 15. The compensation for the donation was a vintage Jaguar and a sum between $10,000 and $20,000, according to PEOPLE.
The filing did not clarify if Keough’s eggs produced a child for Travolta and Preston.
Marty Singer, Presley’s lawyer, denied the allegations, telling Us Weekly that Kruse and Fialko “demonstrated that there is no bar too low, no ethical line that they are unwilling to cross in an effort to cause further pain to Priscilla Presley and her family.”
Singer continued, “These recent outrageous allegations have absolutely nothing to do with the claims in this case … The conduct of Kruse, Fialko and their new lawyers (they are on their fourth set of attorneys) is shameful, and it absolutely will be addressed in court.”
Following the death of Lisa Marie Presley in January 2023, the complaint states that the family “clamored for control of the estate” using Kruse and Fialko as “negotiators and mediators” to navigate what Lockwood reportedly described as “constant chaos.”
The plaintiffs, who are suing for fraud and breach of contract, argue that Priscilla Presley’s move to sever ties with them was calculated to regain control of the family’s trust.
The plaintiffs are also accusing Priscilla Presley of prematurely directing doctors to withdraw life-saving treatment for her daughter. The motive, they claim, was a strike against Lisa Marie Presley’s reported plans to remove her mother as the solo head of the family trust, For The Win wrote.
