According to police, 35-year-old Mark DeLong of North Kingstown was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Officials said he refused a breathalyzer test.

“Driving under the influence of alcohol or cannabis is never acceptable,” South Kingstown Police Chief Matthew C. Moynihan said. “There is no excuse for impaired driving—use a rideshare, call a friend, or stay put. Choosing to drive impaired is reckless, and the extensive damage to this small business is a direct result of that poor decision.”

DeLong was held overnight and was arraigned at Washington District Court.
