If a recent report is to be believed, your Google Pixel phone could be in line for a significant upgrade.
According to Android Authority, Google is rolling out a new feature that allows you to record phone calls via the native Phone app. The feature is believed to be available on the Google Pixel 6 series and later. Essentially, if your Pixel phone was released in October 2021 or later, you’re eligible.
Within the settings of Google’s Phone app, you’ll find a new menu, allowing you to decide whether to record all calls, including those from unknown numbers, or just from selected contacts.
It should also be possible to activate the recordings during an ongoing call; both parties to the call will then be warned that a recording has started. You can read more about the recording feature on Google’s support page.

As mentioned, the feature requires a Pixel 6 or later model, that the phone has Android 14 or a newer version of Google’s operating system installed, and that you also use the latest version of the Google Phone app.
It might not be exclusive to Pixel phones, though. If you use Google’s Phone app, which is available via the Play Store on all Android phones, you should also be able to access the call recording functionality, so it’s worth checking or considering switching to that as your default.
Can’t see it yet? Android Authority also suggests that you may need to download November’s Pixel Drop update to get the recordings to work.
