The Stirchley sprinter, 22, finished third in her T63 100m final as a time of 14.66s saw her narrowly beat Swiss star Elena Kratter to bronze.
Okoh, who completed a degree in Law and Criminology at the University of Birmingham last year, also banked bronze at the Paris Paralympics to catapult herself onto the para sport map.
The West Midlands star is just two years into her burgeoning career but has a crystal-clear ambition about what she hopes to achieve at the next Games in LA in three years’ time.
“It’s not been just about the medal perspective here – it’s about what I’ve been working on with my coach and what we’re striving for in LA,” she said.
“I’m not aiming for a medal in LA – I’m aiming for gold.
“To do that I have to work on those building blocks – these guys have been around for longer than me, and I feel I have so much to learn from them as they’re so much more experienced.
“I just can’t wait to see what happens over the next few years.”
Okoh is one of over 30 British athletes here in India, with the team now sponsored by official finance partner Novuna.
Her bronze came on a brilliant night for Britain at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with Tesco worker Victoria Levitt scorching to a shock T44 100m gold and nine-time Paralympic champion Hannah Cockroft winning an 18th world title in the T34 100m.
Okoh was just 0.01s off a silver medal behind Indonesian Karisma Evi Tiarani as Italian Ambra Sabatini grabbed gold.
Okoh fell short of a personal best by 0.07s but hopes her second major medal can help enhance the profile of para sport back home.
“I went into this race with a really calm attitude – I wanted to PB, which I didn’t do, but I won a medal instead,” she added.
“I gave it my all on the track – everything I’ve been working on came through in the race, so I couldn’t be more happy.
“I think it’s really important to put para athletics on the map – and make more people talk about it.
“I’m just really proud of myself that I get to represent the country and show what Great Britain is really made of.”
