Russia, China Wrap Fifth Annual Joint Patrol

The Russian Navy and People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) wrapped up their fifth joint naval patrol in the western Pacific, China announced last week. The two countries sailed together for 15 days, with the patrol ending this past Wednesday, Aug. 20. The patrol included Russian Navy destroyer RFS Admiral Tributs (564), PLAN destroyer CNS Shaoxing (134) and fleet oiler CNS Qiandaohu (886). The joint Russian-Chinese naval patrol began Aug. 6 in the Sea of Japan following the end of the Russian Navy-PLAN exercise, dubbed Maritime Interaction 2025 by Russia and Joint Sea 2025 by China.
