The pair, who both star in road trip comedy television series Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, popped into The Museum of Ryde in the Royal Arcade on Union Street.
Among those at the venue, which incorporates the world-famous Donald McGill “Saucy Seaside” Postcard Museum, was Michelle Jackson, who helps run Facebook page The Best of the Isle of Wight.
Michelle told the County Press the pair bought lots of souvenirs and seemed to enjoy the quirky place and saucy postcards.
She describes the museum as “a hidden gem packed with fascinating Island history and quirky collections”.
“If it’s good enough for Jack Whitehall, it’s good enough for the rest of us,” said Michelle.
“A true use it or lose it treasure for Ryde.”
Donald McGill, who is among the most popular postcard artists, designed over 12,000 cards, sold millions, and yet died almost penniless.
At the museum, you can buy copies of the ‘obscene’ cards which “outraged magistrates around the country so much they ordered 5,000 to be destroyed in Ryde alone”.
