7th in the OneFootball Ballon d’Or: Gianluigi Donnarumma
Much like PSG, the Italian goalkeeper experienced two very distinct halves of the season. Sometimes seen as shaky, notably against Atlético de Madrid and Liverpool during the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, Donnarumma was even challenged by his backup Matvei Safonov, who started against Bayern Munich.
Then came the return leg against the Reds, where the giant from across the Alps was imperial, especially during the penalty shootout. One of the few who didn’t falter when the Parisian ship almost capsized against Aston Villa and Arsenal, Donnarumma was one of the main architects of PSG’s Champions League triumph thanks to his decisive saves. Enough to reaffirm his status among the best goalkeepers in the world.
