The ending of Scream 7 answers some of the biggest questions of the film’s narrative: who dies in the latest killing spree, Sidney Prescott’s (Neve Campbell) fate, and who is behind the Ghostface mask. As the final confrontation plays out, several characters meet brutal ends while the new killers are finally revealed.

Without further ado, here’s everything to know about the nail-biting ending of the latest Scream installment, as well as who all survive.

What happens in Scream 7 ending?

The final act of the seventh Scream movie reveals that more than one person is behind the Ghostface mask, raising the stakes for Sidney Prescott. The killers target her directly, setting up a confrontation meant to hurt her both emotionally and physically.

Tatum is kidnapped from the Little Latte coffee shop and taken to her mother, Sidney’s home, a place filled with painful memories. When the latter arrives, she is forced to watch deepfake videos featuring figures from her past. This includes Stu Macher, Nancy Loomis, Roman Bridger, and Dewey Riley.

The fake footage is designed to remind Sidney of everything she has endured and to show that the new killers have studied her history closely. The tension builds further when she finds Tatum tied to a chair in the backyard, with one Ghostface standing behind her while another remains involved.

However, after the two individuals behind Ghostface are unmasked, Sidney and Mark somehow manage to subdue them and rescue their daughter.

Who dies and who survives in Scream 7?

In Scream 7, several key characters survive the violence. Sidney Prescott once again makes it out alive. Meanwhile, Mark is seriously injured during the final showdown but survives and is taken to the hospital.

Gale Weathers also lives, and by the end, she allows Chad and Mindy to report on the events. Additionally, the two are later confirmed to have survived their attacks as well.

However, the film’s death toll is extensive. Scott is killed first, followed by Madison, who dies after a violent scene involving a fall and fire. Moreover, Hannah Thurman is disemboweled, Karl Allan Gibbs is run over, and Chloe Parker dies after falling onto glass that pierces her neck.

On the other hand, Lucas is killed when his head is impaled on a beer tap, and Ben is repeatedly stabbed. Not just that, Marco gets shot in the head, and Jessica is shot in the face.

Who is the Ghostface in Scream 7?

Scream 7 reveals that three people are behind the Ghostface mask. The first to be unmasked is Karl Allan Gibbs, an escaped patient from a nearby mental institution. Sidney earlier notices him during a tense moment at a coffee shop. Karl’s identity is exposed during a violent confrontation, which ends with Gale running him over after a struggle involving Mark, Chad, and Mindy.

The second killer revealed is Marco, a staff member at Fallbrook Psychiatric Hospital who had previously given Sidney and Gale a tour of the facility. With a background in information technology, he is responsible for the deepfake calls that haunt Sidney throughout the film. This includes manipulated messages linked to Stu Macher. Eventually, Marco is shot by Sidney after Mark creates a distraction during the final struggle.

The third mastermind is Jessica, Sidney’s neighbor. She admits that the latter’s memoir inspired her to leave her abusive husband. However, Jessica later grew resentful when Sidney withdrew from public life. After admitting herself to a psychiatric hospital, she met Marco and Karl and persuaded them to help carry out her plan.
