Last year was a banner one for celebrity engagements. Everybody from Selena Gomez to Zendaya to Kaley Cuoco has a new diamond ring to wear to awards shows now (and, by the way, five carats seems to be the going size these days). Typically, engagements lead to weddings, which lead to… well, never mind. Let’s see who’s getting a custom Vera Wang sometime in the next 12 months.
Gomez, 32, and Blanco, 36, are likely to have the biggest celebrity wedding of 2025. They went super-public with their engagement right away in December (thank you!), and each has a million celebrity friends who will likely be involved in the celebration. (Taylor Swift, for the record, offered to be the flower girl.)
They have not revealed any details about their wedding planning just yet, but if I had to bet, I think they will have a big wedding at a resort in California — Santa Barbara, maybe. (It definitely won’t be in South Carolina, where Gomez’s ex Justin Bieber married Hailey Baldwin in 2019.) With any luck, Vogue will cover the ceremony, and we’ll get to see all the photos.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback, 28, and the actress–underrated pop star, also 28, have kept their relationship pretty private (unlike another NFL player–pop star couple we know). But now that Allen and Steinfeld are officially engaged, I hope that they will do us a favor and share some wedding details. Steinfeld, at least, gave a rundown of the proposal story in her email newsletter, Beau Society.
“I’m engaged!!” she wrote. “All the happy tears have just barely dried. Whenever we tell the story, look back at photos, or even say, ‘We’re engaged’ or ‘We’re getting married,’ I start crying.”
She then interviewed Allen, who revealed that he is eager to start a family. Sounds like this wedding is going to happen ASAP — but will it be in L.A. or … Buffalo?
These two definitely have the most private relationship on this list — they haven’t even officially confirmed their engagement. But Zendaya debuted a five-carat, east-west cushion diamond button-back ring at the Golden Globes earlier this month. People reports that Holland and Zendaya, both 28, plan to take their time before getting married, but Life & Style recently published some fan-fiction from a source suggesting that the ceremony — or multiple ceremonies — could happen this summer.
“They have already gone back and forth on whether to have a destination wedding in Italy — they both love that idea — or at a lavish private estate in L.A. overlooking the ocean,” the source claimed. “They may end up doing both.”
We can dream!
Are these the most famous people in the world? No. Taggart, 35, is one-half of the Chainsmokers, and Fonseca, also 35, is a model with a skin-care line. But they have a lot of celebrity friends, and they seem eager to share their love with the general public. The couple announced their engagement in December with an exclusive story in People and a lot of Instagram photos. They revealed that Taggart popped the question at the paparazzi hotbed Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, Fonseca’s pal Ivanka Trump helped plan the surprise, and her other pal Hailey Bieber helped pick out the ring. (It’s a “five-carat elongated cushion-cut diamond with diamonds on the band.”)
Fonseca told People she wants an “intimate” wedding, but I bet we get to see every photo taken at it.
Meyer, 47, and Ogunlesi, 33, are also not household names, but their wedding will likely be lavish and crawling with celebs. Meyer, who was previously married to Tobey Maguire, is a jewelry designer and close friend to Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, and Gwyneth Paltrow. Ogunlesi is a music manager and the son of a Nigerian billionaire. Meyer announced their engagement on Instagram in August; my guess is a wedding is not too far away now. The only question: Will Leonardo DiCaprio, who stayed close to both Meyer and Maguire after their divorce, be in attendance? His model girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti did comment “so happy for you two!!!” on Meyer’s announcement post.
I am willing to bet several dollars that this wedding ends up in Vogue, given the fact that the magazine got the exclusive on the couple’s engagement (and also played a role in the surprise proposal). Vogue reported in October that White, 38, proposed to Dobrev, 36, at the Golden Swan in New York after tricking Dobrev into thinking she was there for an intimate dinner with Anna Wintour.
Instead, the former pro snowboarder was waiting for the actress at the restaurant with an enormous white floral display, a professional photographer, and a five-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring. “He said all the right things,” Dobrev told Vogue. I predict a winter wedding in a ski resort with celebrity guests including Miles and Keleigh Teller, Sarah Hyland, Julianne Hough, and maybe some people from Degrassi.
We’ll have to watch this wedding closely, as Theroux’s last marriage — to Jennifer Aniston — was reportedly not exactly legal. Will Theroux, 53, really make things official with Bloom, 30? This relationship seems more traditional, anyway, despite the 23-year age gap. People got the exclusive on their engagement in August: According to the tabloid, Theroux proposed on vacation in Italy before taking Bloom to the Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice premiere at the Venice Film Festival. (Bloom, for the record, is also an actor: She has a role on The Gilded Age on HBO.)
Theroux’s 2015 “wedding” to Aniston was at the home they shared in Los Angeles. I bet Theroux and Bloom get married in New York and that Theroux’s rescue dog Kuma plays a prominent role in the ceremony.
This wedding seems the least likely to happen this year, but I can’t wait to see it when it does. Cuoco, 39, has been married twice before, to tennis player Ryan Sweeting and equestrian Karl Cook. After both divorces, she said she’d never get married again, but she announced in August that she was engaged to Pelphrey, 42. The couple share a 1-year-old daughter, Matilda, and Cuoco has since said that they may have another child together before officially getting married.
“We’re gonna go way out of order. That’s our plan,” she told People in September.
Cuoco’s previous weddings included a “fire and ice”–themed ceremony on New Year’s Eve at a ranch north of L.A. and a more explicitly horse-themed ceremony in July on a different ranch north of L.A. Hopefully, Cuoco’s wedding planner can find one more perfect ranch with availability in the next 18 months or so.
Okay, these two have not actually announced an engagement or even confirmed that they are dating. But wouldn’t that be fun?
