Sunderland looks to stay in the hunt for a European spot on Saturday, as they get set to visit lowly West Ham United in English Premier League action.
Sunderland continues to be impressive in its return to the top tier of English football. Though they might not be in the top four as it was for a brief while, the club is playing well above expectations, and remains in the top half of the league as we close in on February.
The Black Cats are looking to build off a couple of big wins as of late. Including a victory over Everton in FA Cup play, Sunderland outlasted Crystal Palace last Saturday, giving the club points in six of its last seven league matches.
Sunderland enters Saturday tied for seventh in the EPL, two points back of fifth place, and three points out of fourth.
West Ham is busy trying to claw its way out of the bottom three. The club has been in the relegation conversation since the opening kick of the season, and though they have had some positive results as of late, the Hammers are playing for their Premier League lives.
West Ham is currently 18th in the table, five points back of Nottingham Forest.
