Two of the best clubs in the English Premier League meet up on Thursday in the last match before the break, as Arsenal gets set to host Liverpool.
Liverpool has certainly had a roller coaster season thus far. The team had one of the hottest starts in the EPL, but a terrible skid led them to stumble down the table. However, the Reds, despite the Mohamed Salah debacle, have shown the championship pedigree as of late, slowly climbing back up the standings.
Liverpool enters Sunday having gone unbeaten in eight straight league contests, including winning three straight matches to end the month of December. However, the Reds began 2026 on a bit of a whimper, only drawing at home against lowly Leeds United last Thursday, before picking up a measly point against Fulham on Sunday.
When Liverpool faltered earlier this year, Arsenal picked up steam. They went on a run that led to them grabbing first place in the Premier League, a spot they have not relinquished over the past couple of months. The Gunners are riding a five-match win streak in league play, having won seven matches overall dating back to last month.
Arsenal sits first in the EPL, six points ahead of second place, while Liverpool is in fourth, 14 points behind the Gunners.
