As it stands, Arsenal remain top of the table on 58 points, five ahead of eight-time champions City.

But a 2-2 draw at Wolves on Wednesday night, in which they chucked a two-goal lead, has hinted at potential cracks under pressure.

City will close the gap to two points if they beat Newcastle on Saturday, with the match coming live and exclusive on talkSPORT.

Arsenal then face Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby the following day, where anything but a win would spell further trouble.

When is City vs Arsenal?

The Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium is currently set to be played in matchweek 33, on Saturday, April 18 at 3pm.

However, given the enormity of the occasion and the two teams, it is incredibly likely to be rearranged.

City vs Arsenal will most likely be played on the following day as part of Sky Sports’ Super Sunday coverage.

City vs Arsenal: The run-in

After this weekend, City will have a game in hand over rivals Arsenal, whose draw at Wolves was rescheduled due to the Carabao Cup final.

Pep Guardiola’s side were due to host Crystal Palace that weekend, but a new date for the fixture has not yet been announced.

Arsenal have six more home matches this season, whilst City will have five after they’ve played Newcastle.

Both sides also have only one last ‘Big Six’ opponent in Chelsea to play aside from each other.

With the season ending on May 24, it’s unlikely that the title will be decided in their match on the weekend of April 18.

However, the result is set to have a huge impact on who will be lifting the Premier League trophy on the final day.
