Rubem Amorim has been sacked as the head coach of Manchester United, and made reference to Antonio Conte during his final press conference in charge of the club. Here is what he said and why he brought up the Napoli gaffer.
Amorim has been dismissed from his position as head coach of Manchester United after 14 months in charge. He leaves the Premier League outfit after a disappointing pair of draws against Wolves and Leeds United with the club currently in sixth place on 31 points, 17 off the league leaders.
Results have not helped Amorim, nor has his reluctance to move away from his 3-4-2-1 system, but some suggest that his post-match press conference on Sunday was the final nail in his United coffin.
Why did Amorim bring up Conte during his final Man United press conference?

During his post-match address on Sunday evening, Amorim made reference to three former Premier League head coaches, and suggested that they would not have been subjected to the same scrutiny that he has faced over the last year.
“I know that my name is not Tuchel, it’s not Conte, it’s not Mourinho, but I’m the manager of Manchester United,” Amorim said.
“And it’s going to be like this for 18 months or when the board decides to change. I’m not going to quit. I will do my job until another guy is coming here to replace me.”
