VfB Stuttgart forward Jamie Leweling (25) has returned to training and could be fit enough to face Borussia Dortmund in this weekend’s Bundesliga Topspiel. The German attacker missed both VfB’s last game and the subsequent Germany games due to a calf injury.
Speaking at Thursday’s press conference, Sebastian Hoeneß revealed that Leweling took part in training. “He trained fully again yesterday. We tested him the day before. Everything went well and his calf is holding up,” explained the VfB head coach ahead of Saturday’s game.
Although Leweling, who has scored seven goals and provided six assists in 25 Bundesliga appearances in 2025/26, could feature against Dortmund, Hoeneß emphasised a cautious approach to the forward’s return to action.
“I will continue to observe hm over the next two days,” he added. “Jamie is, of course, always someone you can throw back into the game relatively quickly.”
