A free two-day preventive health check-up camp held at Shiv Mandir Yog Sadhna Kendra in Maidan Garhi has brought concerning revelations to light. Organised by Swami Shri Krishan Ji Trust in collaboration with the Illness to Wellness Foundation and YoloHealth, the camp aimed to tackle the silent epidemic of lifestyle diseases rapidly spreading among youth and adults alike.
Hundreds of participants underwent screenings for blood pressure, lipid profiles, sugar levels, and more. The camp revealed a troubling number of previously undiagnosed cases of hypertension, obesity, and diabetes. Notably, HbA1c tests showed nearly 15 per cent of attendees had blood sugar readings above 200—indicating potential undiagnosed diabetes.
Traditionally seen in older adults, chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes and hypertension are now increasingly common in people in their 20s and 30s. Long working hours, sedentary routines, poor diet, and high stress levels are contributing factors. Health experts warn that these ailments often remain undetected until severe damage occurs.
“The Illness to Wellness campaign, supported by HealthATM by YoloHealth, is steadily making a difference by bringing diagnostic tools directly to the community,” said Anil Rajput, Chairperson, Advisory Council, Illness to Wellness Foundation. “In an age where lifestyle diseases are impacting even the youth, our efforts must continue to grow. Preventive healthcare is about empowerment and education.”
The event is part of a broader city-wide campaign that has been ongoing since March 2024. Similar camps have been held at key public locations across Delhi, including Janpath, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Birla Mandir, and Green Park.
YoloHealth’s HealthATM, a digital platform powered by IoT-enabled and US FDA/EU-certified devices, was also showcased. These AI-integrated machines provide quick, accurate assessments and are integrated with telemedicine features to promote accessible preventive care.
