U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his disappointment in Indiana State Senate Republicans and even called out Gov. Mike Braun on social media after the push to redistrict stalled in Indiana.
In a Nov. 16 post on Truth Social, Trump said he was “Very disappointed” in state leaders, and stated that Democrats have done redistricting for years, “often illegally.”
“Also, a friend of mine, Governor Mike Braun, perhaps, is not working the way he should to get the necessary Votes,” Trump posted. “Considering that Mike wouldn’t be Governor without me (Not even close!), is disappointing!”
Braun, who received Trump’s endorsement during the election, was also unhappy with the Indiana Senate Republicans’ decision not to convene in December for redistricting, after Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray said the votes weren’t there. That decision stopped Trump’s push to redraw the state’s congressional map.
“I called for our legislators to convene to ensure Hoosiers’ voices in Washington, DC, are not diluted by the Democrats’ gerrymandering,” Braun said in a Nov. 14 statement. “Our state senators need to do the right thing and show up to vote for fair maps. Hoosiers deserve to know where their elected officials stand on important issues.”

Trump called Bray and Sen. Greg Goode, who hasn’t publicly said where he stands on the issue, two politically correct type “gentlemen,” and said because of them and a few others, they could be depriving Republicans of a Majority in the House,” A VERY BIG DEAL!”
“It’s weak ‘Republicans’ that cause our Country such problems — It’s why we have crazy Policies and Ideas that are so bad for America,” Trump posted. “Any Republican that votes against this important redistricting, potentially having an impact on America itself, should be PRIMARIED.”
Trump also said in his post that Indiana is a “State with strong, smart, and patriotic people. They want us to see our Country WIN, and want to, ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’
He said Sens. Bray, Goode, and the others should “DO THEIR JOB, AND DO IT NOW! If not, let’s get them out of office, ASAP.”
