I’ve been a coffee drinker for years, but until recently, I’d never ventured into pour-over. After talking to a few baristas about their favorite pour-over coffee makers, my interest was piqued. There’s an art to brewing pour-overs that’s made me hesitant to try it at home, but this machine does all that hard work for me. And better yet, it costs less than my beloved Keurig.

What You Should Know About TRU’s Automatic Pour-Over Digital Control Coffee Maker
TRU offers a bunch of kitchen appliances, including a few coffee makers, an espresso machine, and an electric milk frother. The Automatic Pour-Over Coffee Maker immediately caught my eye. Often, a pour-over is made using something like a Chemex Glass Coffee Maker or a dripper (like this one) and a gooseneck kettle to pour the water. This coffee machine consolidates that process into one compact gadget.

Here’s how it works: You pop a filter in the dripper, fill the tank in the back, and then press the water droplet button on the display. This will wet the filter and warm up the carafe. After that, you’ll put up to two tablespoons of your preferred coffee grounds in the filter (I was massively overfilling it at first), and then you’ll press the mug button. The machine will let out a small stream of water moving in a spiral around the grounds. And voilà, you have an easy pour-over coffee at home.
You also have the ability to set your preferred temperature (between 190°F and 205°F), and the dripper and carafe can go right into the dishwasher when you’re done. This machine also comes with 25 conical coffee filters to get you started. Oh, and this usually $90 price tag is marked down to $81 on QVC right now.

My Honest Review of TRU’s Automatic Pour-Over Digital Control Coffee Maker
I was immediately struck by how small this machine is. It’s about half the size of my Keurig, so it fits neatly on my counter. The process of making coffee does take a little longer with this Automatic Pour-Over Coffee Maker than with my Keurig, but that was to be expected. It takes a minute or two for the warm-up process, and then a little under three minutes to actually brew the coffee. So it’s still not that lengthy by any means.
Either way, it’s totally worth it. This machine makes a rich, bold cup of coffee that is utterly delicious. It is a single-serve machine, so one brew will fill up about two-thirds of a mug, leaving me with just enough room for creamy milk and flavorful syrups.
I view this machine the way I view my espresso maker, which is to say I think it’s a really fun weekend coffee machine. I don’t see myself using it daily, but I enjoy the ritual of using it when I have a little more time and can slow down to really enjoy my coffee. And honestly? Weekend coffees are my favorite.
