JANUARY’S over, but if you’re looking for ways to bring your new healthy eating habits into a new month, there’s a recipe that can help.
And as an added bonus – it contains just one, single ingredient.
Foodie Susan took to the Easy Air Fryer Recipes group on Facebook to share the recipe, alongside snaps of the finished product.
“Have you guys tried air fryer strawberries?!” she said.
“This is my healthy candy haha!”
She added that the strawberries are “perfect with yogurt or granola”.
Susan said that while she did the recipe her way, she used the timings from the Flexible Fridge website, which says to preheat the air fryer and cook the strawberries for two hours on the dehydration setting.
If you don’t have a dehydration setting on your air fryer, you can use the lowest temperature option instead.
“This low and slow cooking method helps to dehydrate the strawberries, intensifying their natural sweetness and creating a delightful chewy texture,” they wrote on the website.
To try the recipe yourself, get some fresh strawberries and wash and dry them, before removing the stems and slicing them in half lengthways.
Once your air fryer is pre-heated, place the fruit in a single layer on the air fryer basket – ensuring they are not overcrowded as you do so.
When the two hours is up, check the strawberries’ texture.
“They should be slightly shriveled and have a soft, chewy consistency,” the Flexible Fridge writer explained.
If they’re not at the right consistency, you can add another 15 or 30 minutes to the timer until they reach the texture you desire.
Once they’re cooked, remove the strawberries from your air fryer and leave to cool completely.
After that, you can store them in an airtight container for up to a week.
What are the biggest kitchen trends of 2025?
The kitchen is the heart of every home and this year it’s taking centre stage, Tracy Coleman, Product Director at High Street TV told Fabulous.
Hardworking appliances
Space-saving essentials are needed in every room of the house, and the kitchen is no exception, meaning appliances are often doing double (or triple) the job.
Expect to see air fryer ovens that roast, bake, and fry or blenders with attachments for everything from chopping to grinding.
Health and wellness
With people becoming more mindful of what they eat and how it impacts their well-being, kitchen appliances are stepping up to
meet the demand for healthier, more balanced lifestyles.
Air fryers remain hugely popular, along with blenders and juicers that retain nutrients.
Energy-bill conscious
Finally, with rising energy bills and an increased focus on sustainability, people are turning to appliances that help reduce power consumption and keep costs down.
More people are finding joy in cooking at home as a cost-effective
way to enjoy delicious, nutritious meals. Cooking at home doesn’t just save money—it’s also a fun way to bring the family together or experiment with new recipes.
With the right tools, such as multi-functional appliances and smart kitchen gadgets, creating meals at home becomes easier, faster, and more satisfying.
The dehydrated strawberries can make a delicious addition to any sweet treats, as well as a snack in their own right.
However, the Flexible Fridge writers add a caveat, in that dehydrating removes water from the fruit, which concentrates its natural sugars.
“Moderation is key,” they added.
“Especially if you’re watching your sugar intake.”
