In the list of 10 UK spots, it was London’s own Wimbledon Village that earned the number one spot.

Sharing why Wimbledon Village was top of the list, Sonia Cheng of Knight Frank explained: “Despite being in the capital, it truly offers a village-like feel – people greet each other in passing, and there’s a real sense of community.”

Adding that the neighbourhood’s high street offers a great mix of businesses with the likes of Gail’s, The Ivy and many independent stores.

Independent shops along the high street include Wimbledon Books, Boho Beach Fest, Ad Lib Gallery and jeweller Michael Platt.

However, living close to the village and its high street comes with a premium, as Sonia shares: “You can expect to pay around 30% more compared with some other parts of Wimbledon.”

But despite the cost, Knight Frank shares that it’s worth the premium price thanks to its lifestyle offerings.

Sharing: “Sunday mornings at the farmer’s market followed by taking your lunch out onto Wimbledon Common epitomise the balance of community, convenience and countryside-esque charm.”
