What do we see in The End of Oak Street trailer?
As is often the case with J.J. Abrams projects, there’s a lot of mystery surrounding The End of Oak Street, as the short, 98-second-long teaser trailer raises a lot of questions. The movie does, however, appear to revolve around a street that can somehow be transported to other places and, seemingly, different time periods. The final seconds of the trailer notably feature a dinosaur running through the neighborhood, suggesting that the street has somehow landed in prehistoric times.
The synopsis for the movie reads, “After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.”
Maisy Stella and Christian Convery star in the movie alongside Hathaway and McGregor. Mitchell, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper produce the movie with Abrams, while Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee, and Leeann Stonebreaker serve as executive producers.
Mitchell, who also wrote the screenplay for The End of Oak Street, is best known for directing 2014’s It Follows. Before that, he helmed a 2010 movie called The Myth of the American Sleepover, while he also made Under the Silver Lake with Andrew Garfield in 2018.
The End of Oak Street arrives in theaters and IMAX in North America on August 14, 2026.
