Swire Coca-Cola HK launches public museum tours highlighting ‘Made in Hong Kong’ heritage

Hong Kong – Marking the finale of its 60th anniversary celebrations, Swire Coca-Cola Hong Kong has opened its upgraded ‘Hong Kong Coca-Cola Museum’ to the public for the first time.

Operating under the theme “Made in Hong Kong”, the museum will host three public guided tours on 7 March 2026 as part of The Bottling Hunt campaign. The tours adopt a time-travel concept, tracing Swire Coca-Cola HK’s six-decade presence in the city through interactive installations.

The guided experience highlights the company’s development alongside Hong Kong’s growth, offering visitors a closer look at beverage production while also addressing future-facing priorities such as sustainability. Visitors will explore the brand’s local story through immersive exhibits designed to reflect its role in everyday Hong Kong life.

Swire Coca-Cola HK will also collaborate with COKE+®, The Coca-Cola Company’s loyalty programme, to launch a redemption scheme aimed at widening public access to the guided tours and offering exclusive souvenirs.

The museum is housed within Swire Coca-Cola HK’s Sha Tin bottling plant—the world’s tallest Coca-Cola® bottling facility—which continues to operate as both a production site and a heritage space. The campaign reinforces the company’s long-standing “Made in Hong Kong” positioning, underscoring its emphasis on local production since beginning bottling operations in the city in 1965.

Through The Bottling Hunt guided tours, visitors move through a curated journey spanning the brand’s origins in 1886 to the present day. The experience includes role-playing elements and sensory-based activities inspired by Coca-Cola’s manufacturing history.

The museum opening was officiated by Hunter Jin, CEO of South East Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan (SEAHKT) operations at Swire Coca-Cola; Richard Gould, director and general manager of Swire Coca-Cola HK; and Karlijn in ’t Veld, vice president, franchise operations, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau & Mongolia, The Coca-Cola Company.

“Since commencing bottling operations in Hong Kong in 1965, Swire Coca-Cola has grown from serving the local market to becoming the fifth-largest bottling partner globally, reaching more than one-tenth of the global population. For us, Hong Kong is not only our starting point but also the core of innovation and heritage,” Jin said.

Looking ahead, Jin said Swire Coca-Cola HK will continue to optimise its equipment in 2026 to produce high-quality beverages, deepen community engagement and build a world-class bottling business.

Sustainability was also highlighted at the event. Gould noted that the company will continue to advance alongside Hong Kong towards a more sustainable future.

“Since October 2025, the plastic bottles used for Swire Coca-Cola’s locally produced 500 ml Coca-Cola® beverage and bonaqua mineralised water (1.5 litres or under) are made from locally recycled plastic, realising a bottle-to-bottle circular economy: ‘locally collected, locally remade,’” he said.

He added that the company aims to ensure more than 50% of its packaging uses recycled PET in 2026. Alongside the museum initiative, Swire Coca-Cola HK will also roll out “Recycling Academy” sustainability education kits in partnership with The Coca-Cola Company to support public awareness and education.

With the Lunar New Year approaching, Gould also unveiled the Year of the Horse festive cans, featuring limited-edition packaging inspired by Chinese embroidery motifs symbolising reunion, prosperity and good fortune.
