Even as a fashion editor, it can be hard to know what’s actually trending. I was out with a friend who saw a Labubu hanging off someone’s bag and asked, “What the hell is that?” To me, the furry, Gremlin-esque accessories is the obvious ‘It’ item of 2025; to her, someone not chronically online, it was a just freaky Happy Meal toy. That’s why I love Lyst’s quarterly Index report, which sifts through data—sales, page views, online mentions, and more—to say, quantifiably, that these are the season’s top trends.
The just-dropped Quarter Two report breaks down the hottest brands and items—the latter of which you can grab right now. Below, shop summer’s definitive ‘It’ styles, as well as some great (more affordable, well stocked!) alternatives.
The Row Flip-Flops
The Row
The Row’s Dune flip-flops—a $690 sandal that’s been worn by Jennifer Lawrence, Zoë Kravitz, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner (to name a few)—were the quarter’s hottest product, with searches for the shoes rising 162 percent. The casual-cool sandals helped put flip-flops back on the map in a major way; I’ve seen the shoes that were once relegated to the locked room become one of summer’s biggest footwear trends. While the OG is sold out, you can still snag the brand’s slightly taller Flatform flip-flops for a bit more. But if you’re not down to spend $750 on a pair of sandals (yeah, same), you can grab Havaiana’s square-toe flip-flops or even these chic faux leather ones that are just $20 at Amazon.

Skims White Tank Top
Skims
It feels silly to say that something as basic as a white tank is trending, but the wardrobe essential really is having a moment this summer: It’s pretty much the number one hot-girl staple. With Skims’s white tank being one of the season’s most coveted items, most options are sold out, but this slightly sheer one is still in stock. Obviously, though, there are plenty of other ribbed white tanks you can shop: Gap’s halter tank is my personal favorite, while shoppers love the support J.Crew’s racerback tank offers (its built-in bra is no joke). But you also can’t go wrong buying this two-pack, where each tank ends up costing less than $6.

Adidas Sprinter Shorts
Dick’s Sporting Goods
Clearly, we took a turn towards the more casual this summer. According to the report, Adidas’s Sprinter Shorts saw a demand increase of 121 percent. But people aren’t just wearing these for a run, the sporty short-shorts are having a fashion moment; Zoë Kravitz paired the tiny bottoms with kitten heel mules. There are of course plenty of athletic options, like Lululemon’s Nylon Remix shorts, but there are also some styles that lean a little more cutesy, including these lace-trim shorts from Anthropologie and Adidas’s ruffled stain shorts.

Miu Miu Boat Shoes
Saks Fifth Avenue
Miu Miu is Lyst’s hottest brand, and its suede boat shoes are among the season’s biggest items. An InStyle fashion editor raved that the preppy style is “fashion-forward, super versatile,” and, just as important, “actually comfortable.” To shop the trend for less, you can grab Cushionaire’s $40 faux-leather boat shoes, these cool-girl ones from Loeffler Randal, or keep it classic with a pair of Sperrys.

Faithfull the Brand Strapless Dress
Faithfull
Drop-waist dresses were everywhere this summer, and Faithfull the Brand’s strapless Hedy dress was the most coveted. The dress is still available on the brand’s site and at Nordstrom, but sizes are limited. So if you don’t need the exact style, I’d recommend J.Crew’s on-sale Mixy dress, which has a comfortable stretchy bodice, Mango’s summery knit one, or even Old Navy’s $24 drop-waist dress.
