The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for Stockport.
Covering parts of the River Mersey catchment area, the alert was issued today (14 November) and means that flooding is ‘possible’, but not necessarily ‘expected’.
The Environment Agency has said they are closely monitoring the situation.
They also advised people to avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
