Royal Caribbean International’s Spectrum of the Seas made its much-anticipated return to Hong Kong on 23 November, resuming regional voyages with the city once again serving as its homeport.
Royal Caribbean International has also confirmed four additional sailings to offer 16 cruises from the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal for the 2026–27 season.
The ship’s comeback strengthens Hong Kong’s position as a leading cruise hub in Asia and coincides with a surge in international cruise activity. According to the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the city is projected to welcome nearly 190 cruise ship calls in 2025 – a year-on-year increase of around 26%, involving 22 international cruise brands.
“I am delighted that Spectrum of the Seas of Royal Caribbean International has once again chosen Hong Kong as its homeport,” HKTB Chairman Dr Peter Lam said. “It is also encouraging to see numerous international cruise brands choosing Hong Kong as homeport or turnaround port this year, or visiting Hong Kong as port of call, attracting more international visitors to our city.”
As Hong Kong enters the peak season for cruise tourism, the city attracted 10 vessels from nine different international cruise brands in November 2025 alone, offering a total of 19 calls.
Of these, five made Hong Kong their homeport or turnaround port, including Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Solstice, Costa Cruises’ Costa Serena, Astro Ocean Cruise’s Piano Land, and StarCruises’ Star Voyager, and the latest, Royal Caribbean International’s Spectrum of the Seas.
Other international cruise ships visiting Hong Kong in November include Celebrity Millennium (Celebrity Cruises), Westerdam (Holland America Line), Norwegian Spirit (Norwegian Cruise Line), Seven Seas Explorer (Regent Seven Seas Cruises) and Seabourn Quest (Seabourn).
